One inbound rep gets through about 50 meaningful touches a day. A hot lead needs 3 to 4 touches. That is roughly 15 sales-worthy leads a day, about 300 a month.
Base, commission, benefits, and overhead combined. Typical range for a fully loaded inside-sales rep is $60k to $100k; edit to match your team.

With enough reps to work every inbound lead, scoring cannot add deals: every lead gets worked either way, which is why the two scenarios below land on the same totals. What order still decides is who gets the five-minute response and who waits hours for a callback. For most teams, that is where the remaining money sits.
| Reps | The slice they unlock | Deals added | Revenue added per year | Pays for themselves |

One more thing: this model counts a junk lead as one wasted slot. In funnels with real spam or fraud, each junk lead eats more rep time than a good one. Your real gap is bigger than this number.
It also prices none of the speed effect. A scored queue puts your fastest response on your best leads, and in transactional funnels response time moves close rates on its own.
And scoring changes the hiring math: the table above shows what each additional rep is actually worth, and how a scored team hits the same revenue with fewer reps.
These studies measure contact and qualification odds, not closed revenue.
A separate insidesales.com analysis of 5.7 million inbound leads found conversion 8x higher when the first attempt came inside 5 minutes.

In a back-test against 12 months of closed deals, Tier 1 leads were 5x more likely to close than Tier 3, at 99.9% statistical significance.

WareSpace had more inbound than two reps could work and no way to tell which leads deserved the time. Their CMO explains what happened once we scored their full history against what actually closed.
